Stadtbad Lankwitz

Stadtbad Lankwitz is a public indoor swimming and wellness complex in the Berlin district of Steglitz-Zehlendorf, operated by Berliner Bäder-Betriebe. It is one of the city’s leisure-oriented pools, combining family recreation, sport swimming, and sauna facilities under one roof. The site is a well-known community destination for exercise, relaxation, and swim training.
Facilities and Features
The main hall includes a 25-meter pool with diving boards (1 m and 3 m) and separate non-swimmer, baby, and leisure pools. Attractions such as a 60-meter water slide, whirlpools, massage jets, and play zones make it popular with families. Complementary amenities include a café area, changing rooms, and wheelchair-accessible infrastructure.
Sauna and Wellness
An extensive sauna landscape offers two dry saunas (about 85 °C and 95 °C), a steam bath, and a bio-sauna around 60 °C, plus a plunge pool, relaxation lounge under a glass dome, and a rooftop garden. Visitors can also enjoy massages, a solarium, and a juice bar for refreshments.
Operation and Management
Stadtbad Lankwitz is managed by Berliner Bäder-Betriebe (BBB), which oversees more than 60 pools across the capital. It belongs to the network’s “freizeitorientierte Bäder” (recreation-focused baths) category, alongside Stadtbad Schöneberg and Wellenbad am Spreewaldplatz. The facility occasionally closes for technical maintenance or renovation to ensure water quality and safety standards.
Community Role
Serving residents of Lankwitz and neighboring districts, the bath hosts swimming lessons, aqua-fitness sessions, and family swim days. Its combination of sports and wellness offerings makes it a year-round gathering point within Berlin’s municipal recreation system.
