Lapland Hotels Arena

The train pulled into Tampere on a crisp autumn afternoon. I had heard about the new hotel connected to Nokia Arena, and with a few hours before my evening plans, I decided to check out their rooftop saunas. The elevator whisked me up to the top floor, where the air carried a hint of pine and distant lake water.
Stepping out, I found myself on a vast terrace that seemed to stretch forever. Nearly 300 seats dotted the space, with a bar and kitchen ready for crowds. But on this quiet weekday, it felt almost private. I booked a session in one of the three saunas available, drawn by the promise of views over the city.
Settling into the Tuohta Sauna
The Tuohta sauna welcomed me with its warm wooden benches and soft lighting. I changed quickly and stepped inside, the heat wrapping around me like a familiar hug. Steam rose gently as I sat back, letting the temperature build.
Outside, connected to this space, an outdoor hot tub waited. I moved there after a while, sinking into the bubbling water. The panoramic views unfolded before me: Tampere's skyline, with its mix of modern buildings and glimpses of Lakeland's waters beyond. The cool air contrasted with the warmth, sharpening every sensation.
In the same area, the Huvila cabinet offered a spot to relax post-sauna. I lingered there, sipping a drink from the nearby bar. The terrace's kitchen aromas drifted over, tempting me with thoughts of a light meal.
Exploring the Other Spaces
Curious about the full setup, I wandered to the other two saunas. Each had its own character, though I stuck mostly to Tuohta for its views. The heat in these rooms felt consistent, inviting longer stays. I alternated between sauna and terrace, where the bar served simple refreshments.
As the sun dipped lower, the city lights began to flicker on. From up here, Tampere looked alive yet peaceful, a blend of urban energy and natural calm. The hotel's location right by the arena made it convenient, especially for visitors like me catching a show later.
I wrapped up after about an hour, feeling refreshed. The rooftop experience tied together the city's pulse with moments of quiet retreat.
