Lasi-iglu

The road wound through thick pine woods, and as I pulled up near the lake in Kannonkoski, the glass igloo caught my eye right away. It sat there on the shore, a clear dome ready for rental, blending into the quiet nature of Finland's Lakeland region. I had arranged to use it for an afternoon, drawn by the promise of heat and open views.
Inside, the space felt compact but inviting. I lit the stove and watched the flames build. The air warmed up steadily, and soon sweat beaded on my skin. No fancy setups here, just the basics for a portable sauna experience.
Gazing Out at the Water
What struck me most was the panoramic view through the glass walls. The lake stretched out calm and wide, dotted with small islands covered in birch trees. I sat on the wooden bench, letting the heat sink in while birds skimmed the water's surface.
As the session went on, I stepped out now and then to breathe the cool air. The nature around felt vast, with wildflowers along the path and the distant hum of bees. Back inside, the contrast sharpened everything: the steam rising, the light filtering through the dome.
I lost track of time, but the rental setup made it easy to extend if needed. No crowds, just me and the landscape.
The Dip That Followed
When the heat peaked, I walked down to the lake for a quick plunge. The water felt crisp against my heated skin, a shock that woke me right up. Drying off on the shore, I looked back at the igloo, its glass reflecting the late afternoon sun.
This spot in Kannonkoski suits those who want a simple, nature-focused sauna without permanent fixtures. The portable design means you can set it up where the views call you, always tied to the lake and the wild surroundings.
As I packed up, the sun dipped lower, casting long shadows over the water. I drove away through the same pine woods, already thinking about coming back for another rental.
