The train from Copenhagen dropped me off in Glostrup on a crisp Thursday afternoon. This suburb sits just west of the city, with its mix of quiet residential streets and sports fields. I walked a short distance to Stadionvej 80, where the Glostrup Idrætsanlæg stands as part of a larger sports complex. The air carried a hint of chlorine from nearby pools, and I felt ready for some heat after the cool Danish breeze.

Inside, I paid 35 DKK for a session. The place felt straightforward, like a community spot where locals come to unwind. I changed and headed to the sauna area, noting the schedule posted for aufguss on Mondays and Thursdays. Today fit right in.

I stepped into the sauna room, where the wood benches waited under soft lighting. A few others sat quietly, towels draped around them. The heat started to build as someone poured water over the stones, releasing a wave of steam that filled the space.

The session lasted about 15 minutes, just enough time to let the warmth sink deep. Sweat beaded on my skin, and I focused on my breathing, slow and steady. No one spoke much, but the shared quiet added to the calm. When the time ended, I felt that familiar pull to cool down.
